James "Hershel" Miller RIVER OAKS -- James Hershel Miller, 93, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018. FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. Entombment: Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Greenwood. Hershel was born March 24, 1925, in Magnolia, Ark., to Coleman and Eula Miller. Hershel was retired from the Fort Worth Transit Authority after 45 years of service. He was the longest living member of Trinity Baptist Church of Fort Worth. He held a number of offices in the Masonic Lodge #942, North Fort Worth and was a member of the Eastern Star North Fort Worth #684. He loved his family, gardening, fishing and hunting. Hershel was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Marzelle Miller; parents, James Coleman Miller and Eula (Marlar) Miller; sister, Rachel McGarity; and brother, Howard Reed Miller. SURVIVORS: Wife, Evalyn Miller; daughter, Karen Sanders and husband, Terry; sons, Walter C. Miller and wife, Diana and James A. Miller and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Todd Miller, Douglas Miller, Candace Miller, Keitha Bennett and Hollee Reed; six great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Marsha Giarusso and Lorrane Larrew.
