James Stembridge Obituary

James Maurice Stembridge, 91, the father of a former Dallas and San Antonio radio broadcaster, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, in Tyler.
Memorial service: Tuesday, with burial in Kilgore.
Mr. Stembridge was born in 1916 in Starrville in Smith County. He was associated with public accounting and oil exploration and refining for over 60 years, as a partner in a Mississippi refining company in the 1950s. He was a founder of an accounting firm and an exploration company in subsequent years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Bradberry, in 1994.
Survivors: Son, Terry Stembridge Sr. of Kilgore, the voice of the Dallas Chaparrals and San Antonio Spurs from 1967 to 1979; daughter, Merridonna Thompson of Tyler.
