Janet Robison Obituary

Janet Ellen Zwick Robison lost her fight with diabetes on Wednesday, May 8, 2002. She was at home in familiar surroundings when she passed.

Funeral: No services are planned, but a celebration of her life will be held at her residence on Monday, May 13, at 4 p.m. for her friends and family.

Her body was donated to The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Janet Ellen Zwick Robison was born June 5, 1929, in New Britain, Conn., the daughter of Frank Zwick M.D. and Catherine Sanders Zwick.

After settling down in Arlington in 1968, she became a nurse. Jan worked for many years doing private duty cases, working at a local doctor's office, and for Arlington Memorial Hospital. She was active for several years with the Arlington chapter of Parents Without Partners and served on its board of directors. In addition to being a nurse, she was also a licensed real estate agent, an office manager and computer entry specialist. She managed her family's rental houses in her semi-retirement. Her most demanding and rewarding job was that of loving wife, mother, grandmother, matriarch of her family and trusted loyal friend to all who knew her. In that job, she excelled like no other. Her friends and family will miss her sage advice and wise counsel. The values and high moral standards that she taught and lived by will live on and never be forgotten.

Jan was an avid world traveler, spending much time on extended vacations abroad, but most enjoyed driving the highways of the United States and Canada in her RV with her husband, David (Robi) doing the navigating. She was famous for her marathon driving ability and skills behind the wheel. She enjoyed driving on the wrong side of the road in Scotland and England. Jan was a regular fixture on the Good Sams RV Club campout circuit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Alexander; sons, William B. Stearns, Danford D. Robison; and grandson, James Douglas Watkins.

Survivors: Husband, David L. Robison; children, Carolyn M. Stearns, Sarah W. Watkins, David L. Robison Jr. and Judy Robison; brother, Frank Zwick; sisters, Judy Ham and Catherine Keefe; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, she requested that you consider organ donation or the Willed Body Program. Your legacy can be the priceless gift of life.
