Jason Smith Obituary

Jason Daniel "Dan" Smith, 40, beloved husband, father, son and friend, went home to be with his precious Savior on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, surrounded by his family at his home. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Saginaw, 300 N. Old Decatur Road, Saginaw. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Eagle's View Church in support of "EVC Go," 200 S. Bluebonnet St., Saginaw, Texas 76179, an organization that facilitates local and international mission work, something that Dan was very passionate about. Donations can also be made online at www. eaglesviewchurch.org. Dan's life was truly an example of what God can do through a heart and life yielded to Him. He served those around him selflessly, showing the love of Christ to countless people and displaying an unwavering faith in Christ in spite of the trials he endured during his fight against cancer. His faith was not circumstantial. Survivors: Wife, Linda Smith; children, Savannah, Isaac, Sam and Nate; parents, James and Ellen Smith of Midlothian; sister, Deyna; and many other precious family members and friends.

Linda and family,

Though I know that Dan has gone to meet our Lord and that is cause for celebration, I also know how much he will be missed here on this earth. For that, please accept my condolences for your loss....and our's. Your family has been in our prayers (FUMC's Ecclessia's class and mine) for weeks now, but will remain in our hearts and prayers in the days and weeks to come.

May God bless and keep you all,
Janice Akins
