Weatherford, Texas - Jerome "Jerry" Curda of Weatherford, TX went to join Our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 14. He was born August 13, 1941, to Robert and Mary Curda. He was the third of six children. He graduated from Azle High School and earned his bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX. He had a great sense of humor, loved music, played the harmonica, always had his nose in a book, and had an amazing eye for photography. He taught English, Religion and was a Sunday school teacher in his younger years. He enjoyed travelling and seeing new places. He had an impact on everyone he interacted with during his lifetime. Jerry's quick wit and high level of vocabulary often left people in tears of laughter or looking up words in the dictionary.
He was a great listener and would help you if he was able. He was active in the Catholic Church serving in the Sertoma Organization, as lector at various parishes and singing in the choir at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Betty and brothers Paul, Ed and Chris. He is survived by his current wife Marylin Anderson Curda; his sister Mary Kay; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; first wife Janet and their daughters: Elaine, Jean and Adriane and their husbands; stepson Matt & his wife; eight grandchildren, two nieces, and eleven nephews. He loved his family, and he will be missed by all. Jerry's Celebration of Life will take at 10:00 am Saturday August 13 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Weatherford.
