Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Friday at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home. Burial: 1 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Jess W. Quate was born Nov. 12, 1915, in Pecan Gap, to Andrew Lee and Joyce Effie Young Quate. He was a Grand Prairie resident since 1947, and retired after 40 years of service from Cooper Industries in Dallas. He served with 101st Airborne Division with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Sam R. Hamilton Masonic Lodge #1031 and the Fairview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by brothers, H. Lee, Charlie T. and Delmer; and sister, Opal Hida Shaw.
Survivors: Wife of 30 years: Nancy C. Quate; sons, Donald J. Quate, David W. Quate, Michael L. and his wife, Sharon Quate;
daughter, Diane and her husband, Rev. Pat Graham; grandchildren, Angela, Brandon, Matt, Jennie, and Susan; and sisters, Verne Baker and Arbena Weakley.
