Jimmy Montgomery
September 5, 1949 - December 23, 2022
Fort Worth, Texas - Jimmy Montgomery, 73, passed away peacefully Friday, December 23, 2022.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley Memorial Park, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford, Texas.
Pallbearers: Brothers of the Masonic Lodge.
Jim was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas where he lived with his wife, the love of his life, Cheryl for the past 39 years. His life was filled spending memorable times with his family and friends. When Jim wasn't spending time with his wife, girls, grandkids and family, he was enjoying the outdoors by bow hunting and fishing. Jim retired after 30 years of employment as a construction cable splicer with GTE/Verizon in Garland, Texas and Ferris, Texas. He was a Master Mason at Ridglea Masonic Lodge #1341 AF & AM and Fort Worth Stock Show Masonic Lodge #1460 AF & AM where he served as Worshipful Master in both lodges. He was also an active member at Ridglea Chapter #999, Order of the Eastern Star serving as Worthy Patron many times, as needed. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he was also the President of Methodist Men and a member of the choir where he loved singing. He was a current member of Benbrook United Methodist Church after the two churches consolidated as well as a member of the choir.
He and his wife traveled as far north as Newfoundland where he hunted moose and as far south in Texas to hunt Mouflon sheep where he took his first trophy of a beautiful ram. Whenever possible his wife did manage to persuade Jim to travel and cruise the Caribbean with their last trip to Fairbanks, Alaska where they traveled west across land by train then proceeded to cruise south down the western coast to Vancouver, Canada.
Jim is survived by the joys of his life Cheryl W. Montgomery; his three daughters, Christy P. Shaw (Brett), Tiffany M. Bindel (Russell), and Tammy L. Montgomery. His children gave him the delights of his life; grandchildren, Brandon L. Green, Bayleigh J. Green, Taylor A. Bavol, Ethan J. Montgomery, Devin L. Bindel (Maleah), and Haley J. Bavol. On December 15, 2022, Jim was blessed with his first great-grandson, Michael Lance Bindel. Jim is also survived by several cousins.

Dear Cheryl and family,
Our deepest condolences to your family upon your loss. Jimmy was such a delight to know, and all who knew him thought the world of him. He and other Masonic brothers were such a comfort when my father Gene, and brother Dave Buckner passed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
