Marlin E. Hamilton

1942 - 2016

Marlin E. Hamilton, 74, of Newville, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at his home after an 8 month battle with cancer. He was born April 4, 1942 in Mt. Holly Springs, PA to the late George A. Hamilton and Romaine (Donnelly) Slusser McKee.
Marlin retired from C. H. Masland after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Carlisle Church of God, Keystone Oliver Collectors of PA and a lifetime member of Penn Twp. Fire Company. Marlin liked to go camping and work in his yard. He helped with Heritage Days in Blaine making soup.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Patricia Hamilton of Newville; three daughters, Carol (Steve) Mitten of Perry Co, Tammy Hamilton and Heather Thumma both of Newville; two sons, Marlin Jr. (Denise) of Mt. Holly Springs and Timothy Hamilton and companion Mindy of Newville; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 6 extended grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Janet Porter and Betty Sweeney both of Mt. Holly Springs, Nancy Gsell and Rebecca Mitchell both of Carlisle; and a half brother, Charles Hamilton of FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marlin was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with the Pastor Dean Ramsey officiating. There will be a viewing Monday, June 27, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
