Joan A. Troxel

1933 - 2017

Joan A. (Speelhoffer) Troxel, 83, of West Norriton Twp., PA, passed away February 12, 2017. She and her husband, Horace “Hoss” Troxel, would have observed their 63rd wedding anniversary on March 20th of this year. Born October 13, 1933 in Norristown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Eleanor (Hardcassel) Speelhoffer and was a 1951 graduate of Norristown High School. She had been a secretary for H. Troxel Cemetery Service, Steven Korkus Real Estate, and Pizazz By Renee & Co. Mrs. Troxel was a talented seamstress and enjoyed decorating and flower arranging. Her hobbies included snowmobiling, bowling, water skiing and tennis. She enjoyed time with her family and vacationing in Ocean City, NJ. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Renee Parker and her husband, Larry, of Collegeville, PA, Becky Barron and her husband, Mike, of Boyertown, PA, Davis Troxel and his wife, Renee, of Skippack, PA, and Duane Troxel of Perkiomenville, PA, and his girlfriend, Alaine Zumpino. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mrs. Troxel was preceded in death by four siblings, Francis Speelhoffer, Helen Carr, Eleanor Mack and Charles Speelhoffer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 9-10:45AM on Thurs., Feb. 16, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Rd., Skippack. The funeral service will begin at 11AM. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
