Joe Sutton Obituary

Joe Roy Sutton, 76, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in Arlington Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mark Benadon of Park Springs Bible Church officiating and Bill Simmons, associate pastor, assisting. Interment: 4:30 p.m. in Resthaven Cemetery in Menard. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Arlington Funeral Home. Joe retired from Bell Helicopter and Volunteer Fire Department of Pantego and was also a reserve deputy with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department in the past. He was a member of Arlington Masonic Lodge, Arlington Chapter and Council, Fort Worth Scottish Rite, Fort Worth Moslah Shriners and Riverside Chapter 834 Order of the Eastern Star. Joe was a member of Pantego Bible Church. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Mark H. Sutton and Ava Vickers Sutton; and baby daughter, Sharla Elise. Survivors: Wife close to 49 years, Marie Sutton; daughter, Sherri Jo Shockey of Pantego; grandson, Drax Shockey of Granbury; sister, Dolores and husband, Hank Foster, of Menard; brother, Tommy Sutton of Menard; and several nieces and nephews.

Marie, I am so sorry to hear about Joe. Joe was one of the best. We had some great time at Pantego FD over the years. He will truely be missed.
