Fort Worth, Texas - John Francisco Calva was called to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 13 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Private Funeral Service: Tuesday at St. Patrick Cathedral. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: Monday at Mount Olivet Chapel.
John was born on June 16, 1927 in Medford, Oklahoma and was raised in Fort Worth. John was a real American Patriot who served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a member of the Greatest Generation. Upon returning to Fort Worth, John was employed by Consolidated now Lockheed Martin and worked for 58 1/2 years. John met and married the love of his life, Esther, with whom he shared 58 1/2 years of marriage. John was a bull and bronco rider and an avid hunter during his free time. John also worked at Texas and Pacific Railroad close to his "TP' neighborhood. John was a Deputy Sheriff and was on the first Hispanic members of Sheriff Lon Evans Tarrant County Mounty Sheriff Posse. John also served as Vice Commander of Post 482 District 12.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Calva; parents, Leonardo and Amelia Calva; brother, William Pete Calva; sisters, Mary Louis Rodriguez and Victoria Lovell; son, Raymond J. Calva; and grandson, Justin A. Calva.
John is survived by children, Rosalinda Calva Trevino and husband, Peter, Joe A. Calva and wife, Elitta, John F. Calva Jr. and significant other, Mary Enriquez, Esther Calva, and Danny C. Calva and wife, Rebecca; ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Joe A. Calva, John F. Calva Jr., Danny C. Calva, Peter Trevino Jr., Peter Trevino III, Joseph Calva, Ray Garcia and Chris Santana.
