John Dillon Obituary

John "Jack" Joseph Dillon, Jr.
October 11, 1931 - June 19, 2021
Fort Worth, Texas - John "Jack" Joseph Dillon, Jr., 89, formally of Pawtucket, Rhode Island passed away peacefully June 19, 2021.
He was the beloved husband of Audrey (Battersby) Dillon for 68 years. Son of the late John and Helen (Walker) Dillon and brother of the late David and Joanne Dillon. Father to Linda and her husband, Richard Sawicki of Rhode Island, Dr. Christopher Dillon and his wife, Catherine of New York, and Leslie and her husband, Chad Thomas of Fort Worth. Grandfather to Matthew, Allyson, Meredith, James, Trina, Charlotte, Taylor, Caiden and Ava. Great-grandfather of Milo, Henry and Charley.
Jack graduated from St Raphael's Academy in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1949, and then from Bryant College in Smithfield.
He was employed with Cushman Bakery for 10 years, H.P. Hood and Sons for another 10 years, and worked for Swift & Company for over 30 years, until his retirement. After retirement, he continued to work as a seasonal employee for H & R Block for many years. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus #2811 and an avid golfer and he attended Holy Family Catholic Church.
Jack was a dedicated and passionate cowboy movie fan, enjoyed fishing in Cape Cod, playing cards and bingo, and spending time with his family and friends. Those who love him will always remember him as a story-telling, happy and kind person who never met a stranger.
Jack's favorite song was "Happy Trails" by Roy Rogers:
"Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smiling until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together, Just sing a song, and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, until we meet again."
