John Hayes Obituary

John Thomas Hayes, 80, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Interment: Private in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: The family will greet friends beginning at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, National Headquarters, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive, Tucson, Ariz. 85718.
John was born Aug. 16, 1928, in Lufkin, son of the late Bessmae and Childress Hayes. He was a computer expert and worked for Texas Instruments as a technical programmer. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout, loved genealogy, and wrote a comprehensive history of his life.
Survivors: His wife of 62 years, Kathy; son, Bob; daughter, Bridget; grandchildren, Kelly and Meghan; sister, Diane; and his valued and trusted caretaker, Brenda.
