Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Galatian Missionary Baptist Church. Wake: 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors: Son, Antonio Hornsby; daughters, Amica Nolen, Kachelle Kincade (Duke) and Tiffany Hunter; sister, Katherine Locke; and other relatives and friends.

You have my deepest condolences. I know that J.A. is getting his shine on over yonder in the opulence of God's Eternal Kingdom of serenity, peace and joy. Our cups will runneth over missing his physical presence in this topsy-turvy world. But we can rest for sure knowing that he will always be a part of our consciousness, memories and thoughts. God is surely Great. For John Anthony "J.A." Passon now lives double the life -- in us, all his friends and love one, and over yonder in eternally with the Lord. John every time I look at your picture or think about that call I got at 2:45 in the morning I just think of how it must be a dream you been there every since I was in Elementary school I was in Kindergarten I'm 25 now, you was there when my mother was taking her last breaths, you have been there for us especially my brother Larry we are going to miss u and I'm praying for the strength of your family God just needed you as his guardian angel right there with him so he called for you I still know you are an angel in disguise right here on earth I LOVE U & MAY U REST IN PEACE

John was a true friend if there ever was such a thing. He gave from the heart as well as giving his all. John will always hold a very special place in my heart and memories. Katherine, my prayers go out to you and yours. I know how much John Loved you. I will forever cherish my friendship with John. I join with the person who posted earlier agreeing that that this was a shocking trasgedy. John we we're good friends and I hate that our friendship was robbed in a senseless way, but remembering you will most definitely outweigh this tragedy.
