I first lit a candle for Jonathan on the funeral home's website. Now that I am aware that the actual guest book is located here, I would like to use that first candle to light a second one on this page:

My favorite memory of Jonathan goes back to when he was all of four years old. Our family was attending the wedding and reception of one of our cousins. Finding the dance floor almost empty, Jonathan and the flower girl got out there and danced the night away. Those two cuties could really cut a rug! I was smiling from ear to ear just watching them have so much fun. They were the life of the party. Then when they took a little break, Jonathan was intent on going up to the soft drink bar by himself so that he could get drinks for his new "girl-friend" and himself; he was quite the little gentleman. It was one of the cutest things I've ever seen. Jonathan just melted my heart that night. I will miss you, Jonathan. May God bless you and take care of you now. Love, Aunt Karen

Dear Lawrence, Cindy, Matthew and William,

It is difficult to imagine how you all must be feeling, but please know you are all in our hearts and minds. We remember spending time with you, Lawrence and Cindy, at the lake with Jonathan when he was a small child. He had such a sweet spirit; it appears that this gentle spirit remained with him throughout his life. We know he will be missed by your family and so many others.

Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

I met Jonathan while visiting Texas - we happened to sit with each other and eat "grits" at a BBQ (he teased me for being so fascinated with these Texan grits!) we spent a total of 15 minutes together, and yet I spent quite a bit of time telling my friends back home in Canada what an impression he made on me. Such a sweet, pure spirit. Meeting him was the highlight of my trip. May God shine his face on you Jonathan and your family for all of eternity.

Jonathan, in my memory of family visits, is energetic, quiet, good-looking, and ever so kind that he made both my parents and me feel totally at home around him -- I remember over at Patti's how helpful he was in getting us anything we needed as we ate together with him and all of you. Acutally, I've known Jonathan since his birth, but the circle of our lives touched only through family. His now being forever in peace and joy with his loving Father becomes our prayer of thanksgiving for Jonathan. My parents and I pray for all of you in the family and for you, his friends, who love him. I will be offering a Mass of Resurrection for him. Love and Prayers, Fr. Ken Keller, and Ted and Marie Keller

Cindy, as a mother, my heart aches for you..I remember watching Jonathan play basketball, day in and day out, and always waved and thought to myself what a handsome and sweet boy he was.
