Joseph Nesbit Obituary

Joseph Nesbit, 69, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at home.
A private interment will be held this week in Mount Olivet Cemetery. A memorial service and gathering of friends will be scheduled at a later date.
Memorial: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association, 2401 Scott Ave., Fort Worth, 76103; or the Humane Society of North Texas, 1840 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth 76103.
Joseph was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Fort Worth. He was one of three children born to Joseph and Sadie Mae Nesbit and was a lifetime resident. Shortly after his mother's death, when he was 10, he befriended local merchants for food and work to care for himself and his three-year-old sister. From that time, on he diligently worked and faced the challenges of an adult.
As a teenager, he would care for his ailing father, all the while giving the attention of a parent to his sister. He became her father figure and unfailing confidant. His commitment to his family was unending and he quietly and unselfishly helped relatives and friends all his life.
He retired from Lockheed Martin as a flight-line electrician this past April, after 40 years of service.
He will be missed by his family and close friends and will be forever kept in the quiet places of their hearts. Most certainly, he will be fondly remembered by his little sister as her unshakable support and always faithful brother.
Joseph was preceded in death by parents; and one brother, Gregory.
Survivors: Sisters, Janice Record and husband, Harry; niece, April Fuller and husband, Monte and their daughter, Kinsey; nephew, Mark Record and his children, Lauren, Lucas and John Michael.

Dear Janice and family,
Weslie and I were so sorry to hear of your brother's passing. After reading his obituary I am reminded of what I put on my father's tombstone-"We are better because he passed our way." That could certainly be applied to your brother,Joseph .There will be many jewels in his crown!

Joe was a good friend of mine when in school we had classes together both at J.P. Elder and Fort Worth Tech High I lost contact with him until I talked to him a few minutes last year asking him to come to our 50 year high school reunion.

I graduated with a Joe Nesbit from Fort Worth Tech High School and was wondering if Joseph is that person. The one I knew was always called Joe.
Thanks, Enoch Bond
