North Richland Hills , Texas - It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of my beautiful mother, Josephine Sharp. Jo died peacefully after a brave battle with both Alzheimer's disease and breast cancer, Saturday 3 July 2021 at 10:35 p.m., at 89 years of age.
She married a young sailor, Alfred T. Sharp, in her native Arkansas soon after his return from duty in WW2. She gave birth to two children: a daughter, Loretta and a son, Larry. They moved to Fort Worth in the early 1950s, and to North Richlands in 1960, and remained there until their deaths. Jo lived in two different homes on the same street in NRH for the last 61 years. An active member in her children's development, Jo was a lifetime member of the PTA. A devoted homemaker, she took great pride in her lawn until the day she died. Jo will forever be lovingly remembered by her children, two amazing granddaughters, six gorgeous great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. We'd like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many earth angels at Universal Hospice who made Jo's last days as beautiful as we could have ever hoped.
Funeral Service: 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 9 in Mount Olivet Chapel, 2301 N. Sylvania Ave. Fort Worth, TX. Interment following the funeral at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, breast cancer research, or Universal's Hospice.
