Mr. Sharp is survived by his wife, Ann Flaherty Sharp; two children, Jim (Elizabeth) Sharp and Amy (Adam) Sharp Kaufhold; three grandchildren, Lucy Sharp and Harper and Canon Kaufhold; two brothers, Roger (Paula) Sharp and Albert (Connie) Sharp; one brother-in-law, Cecil Pounders; several nieces and nephews; and Jill Clevenger, dear friend and loving caregiver.

Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley Sharp and Ruby Martin Sharp; two sisters, Sandra Sharp Pounders and Marie Sharp Kiser; and brother-in-law Larry Kiser.

J.A., as he was known by all who loved him, was born April 27, 1948, in Lauderdale County, Alabama. He graduated from Central High School in 1966. He then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Auburn University, and a master's degree in Agribusiness from Alabama A&M University. J.A. was drafted into the United States Army in May of 1970, and served for two years.

J.A. was a farmer and cattleman and served the agriculture communities of Jackson County and the State of Alabama for over 50 years. J.A.'s faith was also very important to him and he was an active member of the Church of Christ. Friends and family will remember J.A. for his quiet demeanor, his hard work, and his faithful servant heart.
