Judith Stewart Nowlin

1931 - 2016

Judith "Judy" Stewart Nowlin was united with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, at Christ Chapel Bible Church. Judy was born March 8, 1931, in El Paso to Betty and Bill Stewart. Her family moved to Fort Worth where she attended Arlington Heights High School. She went to The University of Texas in Austin where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She married Wade T. Nowlin in 1952 and raised four children. Judy knew and loved Jesus Christ in a very personal way and was involved with Young Life ministries. She influenced many, including her children, towards a vibrant relationship with Christ. She worked as a realtor for many years, but her passion was her faith, which she nurtured through Christ Chapel as a founding member, her prayer groups and the ministries she served, including the Bread Basket and The Salvation Army. She was a past member of the Junior Women's League of Fort Worth and enjoyed playing tennis, travel and spending time with friends and family. Surrounded by lifelong friends and family, she was very loved and well respected. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Bill Stewart; and sister, Betty Ann Ratliff. Survivors: Children, Shelley Nowlin Gaus and husband, Michael, Martha Nowlin Jorden and husband, Paul, Wade Nowlin Jr. and wife, Betsy, Bill Nowlin and wife, Anne; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Young Life, The Salvation Army or the Bread Basket Ministries.
