Judith Wimberg Obituary

Judith Wimberg
May 17, 1944 - December 22, 2021
Fort Worth, Texas - Judy Eggleston Wimberg, age 77, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at her home in Fort Worth.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Judy was born May 17, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late George Eggleston and Elizabeth Grubert Eggleston. She graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore, Maryland and went on to earn a degree in Zoology from the University of Maryland. Judy then decided that education was her calling and received her teaching certification in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After earning this certification, she taught chemistry and biology at Annapolis High School in Maryland.
She and Ray Wimberg were married on March 3, 1972 in Annapolis, Maryland. After their marriage, Judy and Ray traveled the world extensively, living in California, Germany and Kansas due to Ray's service in the United States Army. After Ray's retirement from the Army, the couple lived briefly in College Station, Texas where Judy worked for the Department of Agriculture. Leavenworth, Kansas was their next stop, where Judy began working as an environmental inspector for the Department of the Army until her retirement in 2006. Upon her retirement, she and Ray returned to Fort Worth where they currently resided.
Judy was an avid stamp collector, with an impeccable collection. She spent many hours painting and loved doing so. Often, Judy could be found working in her garden, reading or playing Bunco with her neighborhood group.
Survivors include her husband, Ray; three daughters, Lisa West of Houston, Texas, Diane West Gillespie and husband, Ramzi of Grapevine, Texas and Laurel Wimberg of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Lynn Perlin and Carol Suplicki of Columbia, Maryland; and five grandchildren.
