Williams and Reed families,

I want to share with you my thoughts of having Kathy in our lives in her teen years. Kathy was a big part of our life as Harley (now my husband of 20 years) and I were falling in love. Kathy would go to church with us and seemed equally comfortable around adults and the youngest kids. She was a great friend to my stepdaughters, Shari and Lisa, and was great with our little boy Stephen (now almost 20). She loved a good romantic story and seemed so excited that Harley and I were getting married. After she gave us a lovely framed poem about marriage, she followed that up with another thoughtful gift of Bride and Groom glasses. I was surprised that someone as young as Kathy would put the time and effort into us old people! But then again, it shouldn’t have surprised me because she had such a big heart. May you feel God’s loving arms of peace around you as you seek Him for comfort. Isaiah 40:11 tells how God is like a gentle shepherd, guiding those who are willing to listen to Him; “He tends his flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to his heart; He gently leads those that have young.”
