Kyle Claunch Obituary

Kyle Claunch
August 7, 1960 - July 11, 2022
Fort Worth, Texas - On July 11, 2022, Kyle Mark Claunch, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 61.
Kyle was born on August 7, 1960 in Fort Worth where he lived for most of his life. He was the oldest of two sons of Jim and Anna Claunch and grew up in West Fort Worth. Kyle graduated from Fort Worth Country Day School in 1978 where he was an outstanding athlete. He was remembered best as the fullback during the team's undefeated 1977 football season. Growing up, Kyle was also nationally recognized in the sport of Judo where he won three consecutive state championships and placed fourth in two consecutive national championship tournaments.
It was during high school that Kyle met his wife, Emily Rogers, who attended Arlington Heights High School. The two married on December 28, 1981 in Fort Worth. Shortly thereafter, Kyle graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor's degree in political science. The two then moved to San Antonio where Kyle attended St. Mary's Law School.
After Kyle graduated from law school, the two returned to Fort Worth in 1989 where he and Emily raised their three children Kelly, Kevin, and Kate. Beginning in 1989 until his death, Kyle worked as a lawyer with his father Jim Claunch and his brother Kirk Claunch. Kyle loved the practice of law and was deeply committed to helping his clients. His law practice focused primarily in the areas of family and probate law. He thrived on the intellectual challenge of the law and always enjoyed a hard day in court. Most of all he enjoyed the opportunity to work every day with his father, brother, and his mother, Anna, who was the firm's office manager until her death in 2018.
For decades, Kyle was a constant presence in his Ridglea Hills neighborhood often seen walking his dogs. During his walks he always enjoyed catching up with neighbors. He was also a dedicated fan of the Manchester City soccer team. He found a good soccer game his best escape.
Kyle was very devoted to his family, enjoyed raising his children with his wife Emily, and spoke often of the accomplishments of his children. He leaves a family who loves him dearly and will miss him very much. Kyle is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Emily Claunch; his daughter, Kelly Claunch, and her significant other, Tyler Davis; his daughter Kate Claunch; and his son, Dr. Kevin Claunch, his wife, Meredith, and their two daughters, Reese and Scarlett. He is also survived by his father, Jim Claunch, and his brother, Kirk Claunch.
A celebration of life to remember and honor Kyle will be held at Christ Chapel Bible Church, located at 3701 Birchman Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76107 on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Please send all flowers and condolences to Christ Chapel.
