Hi, Did. I miss you. March is always a hard month for me; from your favorite holiday, your favorite season, your birthday, and the anniversary of your passing. This year will be 14 years without you, and I miss you more than I can put into words. Every day I wish you were physically here with me, but I know that you are spiritually. When I see the sun rise, I know you´re watching it with me.
I work in the car industry now, just like you did. I´m just getting started but I´m excited to see how far I´ll get. I know you´d be so proud of me and that´s what gets me through each day.
Brighton and I drove out to Columbus a couple years ago to visit Aunt Edie. She shared so many great stories and pictures with us. I wish I had more memories of you, but she told us of so many she had and it was very fulfilling. The trip was one to remember. I drove the full 17 hours back only making stops for gas and I loved every second of it.
Brighton has grown into an amazing young man. He looks just like you, bushy eyebrows and all; he towers over me and mom now. He is on track to graduate college this year. I know you´d be very proud of him and all he has accomplished, just like I am.
Brighton will be 23 this year, and I will be 24. It seems like yesterday you were hiding eggs for us in our back yard. I still remember the last trip we all got to take together to Galveston. I wish the time didn´t fly by so fast.
I wish you a happy spring and a happy birthday, Dad. You mean so much to me.
I love you.
-Ashley

The memory of Larry is forever indelibly etched upon the portals of my mind never to be forgotten.
The last time I saw Larry was in the rear view mirror of my car as I was leaving Ft. Worth returning to California my home.
Larry was a very unique individual and talented individual. Whether he was friend or foe, he was someone to remember. Life was his game and he played to win always.
Larry in his latter days Indicated to me he had made his peace with his maker. I believe he did in which case he indeed was the winner......Life eternal with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rest In Peace my friend .

Teresa, George and Larry had been talking on the phone, catching up on old times. They were planning to get together for lunch. We had to go out of state as George's Mom fell & broke her hip. So sorry they didn't get to see each other and sorry we were out of town and missed the service. Our family's shared some great times at PK lake and other places. Our sympathy to you and your family.

A book could be written about my friend Larry. I met Larry about twenty five years ago. After meeting Larry I grew to love him for his kind and good heart. When in need he was always a friend. He was a loyal and giving person that was non judgemental with a big heart. Overall he was a positive upbeat person who possessed a great zest and love for life. Larry was a highly talented individual who loved the automobiole business. Like every person living or dead, both positive and negative remarks couold be made. For me, I choose to remember Larry and his life in a postive manner. This I do know; If a person was chose by Larry to be a friend, he was a friend forever!
Ten or twelve years ago, while living in Texas, I bought Larry aBible and gave it to him for Christmas. A few years back while having breakfast with him and Loni, Larry told me he was reading it daily and spoke to me of his relationship with his maker. I believe in my heart that today Larry is in the presence of his Lord. I know Larry believed and according to the Living Word of God, "We are saved by grace, not by works, lest any man should boast".
Larry was a unique individual that I was privelaged to know and to count as a true friend.

I have alot to say about Uncle Larry, but what I choose to say is that he loved his Mother. I worshipped our Grandma Barthlow and probably saw her more than alot of us because I was in Ohio for a bit. He sent her money every month. He called her every week. I love him for many reasons, but mostly for that. And I truly love my cousins, the kids, Lani, Aunt Pam and all the others he blessed me with. Godspeed Larry.

Teresa,
Your family was a huge part of my life when I was growing up. Our families spend countless days and weekend together at your house, by the pool and at the lake house in PK. Our parents always laughing, playing cards, cooking while you, Tracy, Little Larry and I just hung out and had fun. I always loved going to your house because it was so laid back and comfortable. Your mom and dad were so awesome and NORMAL! So "Leave It Beaver", everybody was welcome. I just remember your dad as being a loving and funny guy that wanted to share good times with family and friends.
I fondly remember the PK days when he tirelessly drove the boat while I learned how to ski (stop...go...stop...go). He pulled us around the lake tubing...hitting the gas to bounce us off. Then dared us to jump of Hells Gates...and we did!! GOOD TIMES!!
But I'll never forget when my dad took my car away (one of the many) and Larry lent me a nice older Volvo for 3 months and never asked for a penny....
He was a great man in so many ways... You are blessed to have had him in your life!
My prayers go out to you and his family, Lani and those precious young children.
Love,
Karla

Thanks to all who have visited this site and written comments. Thanks to all who have been there thru our loss. It has all been very comforting. We buried Dad yesterday in a love filled service. Thanks to all who attended. Dad would have been happy. It was pretty laid back, like Dad, we had laughs and I loved all of the comments about what a character he was. He was a good man with a great heart and very generous to so many. I'm so glad he was my Dad. Teresa Barthlow (oldest Daughter)

Dear Barthlow Family,
I had the privilege of taking care of Mr. Barthlow at JPS. He was a special man with a great love for his children. Although he was struggling with his illness, he still had an ability to make me laugh with his amazing sense of humor. I want to express my deepest condolences to your family for your loss and I pray that you find comfort in the memories you shared with him throughout the years.

My family had the privilege of meeting Larry 3 years ago when we moved to Fort Worth and he and Lani became our neighbors. Larry loved life and he loved his family. He had so many hardships with his health but his condition never got him down. I will miss seeing him standing in the driveway watching his children play but I know he is in heaven watching them still. We will miss you Larry!

Dear Dad. I miss you so. I'm sorry we never had the B-day dinner and it had to be in the hospital this year. Mine...one week from yours (yesterday)...sucked too. Might have been the worst day of my life. I was excited to see what your choice of restaurants was going to be. Last time it was Hooters then Bone Daddy's...what next? Hot girls never go out of style. You have been the greatest Dad and friend and I will miss you dearly. You have given me my humor, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to bounce back. You are an amazing Man and you have touched so many. I love you too Lani. You have helped us all thru this transition. So many friends and family have helped and I am forever grateful. Too bad Dads not here, he would have loved the attention. Teresa Barthlow (Oldest Daughter).

I'm sad about the loss of Larry. He was a kind, sweet man and we are all lucky to have known him. We all had a lot of good times together "back in the day" when all you older kids were being born. I'll remember him forever and smile every time. I'm thinking of everyone there and praying for Lani to have peace. Aunt Sheila

Words are not available for feelings one has at certain times in life!
Such is this time when a friend of many years is suddenly "called from this earth!
Memories of the times Larry and I "kidded" each other about being "old men"suddenly come back as if it were yesterday!
Larry, I gonna admit, now, that I am a year older than you!
We love you!
Rest in peace!

Please accept my sincere condolences on your lost. I bought a car from Larry right after I graduated from Trimble Tech HS, he had that shop on Lancaster. He even asked me to clean up some of his cars. He was a great friend and we really hit it off. It was because of some of the talks we had that I joined the Air Force, retiring after 28 years. My prayers are with his entire family!
