Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Greater St. James Baptist Church, the Rev. R.C. Johnson officiating. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at historic Baker Funeral Home.
Mr. Burroughs was born July 31, 1921, in Fort Worth. He was educated and thrived in Fort Worth. He was a World War II veteran and had a distinguished career with Atlanta Life Insurance Co. for 38 years.
Survivors: Wife, Dorothy Anderson Burroughs; son, Walter A. Burroughs; daughters, Erin Rhone, Esther Okehi (Obi) and Sandra Andrews (the Rev. William); sister, Rosie Mae Bowers (Luquincy); grandchild, Chizomam Okehi (Ijeoma); and numerous other family members and friends.
