Steve & Phil:We have fond memories of the pleasant times we enjoyed with your parents and you when we were neighbors in Liberal, KS in the 1960's. Those were good years. Having lost our parents several years ago, we appreciate the loss you are experiencing. You have our sincere condolences during this sad time. Sincerely, Dick & Shirley O'Shields

Phil: Doug let me know of your father's passing. I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately, I know what you are going through. Please do not hesitate to call if I can do anything or if you just need to talk. Take care, kiddo.

I am saddened to learn of Les's passing.
Les was a good friend, a fine gentleman, and a man of integrity.
I well remember, and will not forget, the days we worked together at Anadarko in Fort Worth and in Houston, and our uprooting, along with the rest of the company, when Anadarko relocated its headquarters from Fort Worth to Houston.
I know that Steve and Phil and all of his extended family will miss him, as I will.
May he rest in peace.

Les was a great mentor! He and Bob Allison encouraged me to join Anadarko (APC) in 1973, when APC moved down from Ft. Worth to Houston.
Les taught me how to market oil and gas, as well as the state and federal regulations pertaining therto. He along with Joe Kepke, an attorney with Anadako, patiently taught me energy and contract law.
He was a perfectionist that mandated 100% accuracy at all times- in all documents, letters, computations, etc.; hence, when such instruments were created, one could be proud of them.....
Les was not only a great mentor, but he was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. I will always admire him and appreciate him for what he taught me during the two years which I worked for him (1973-1975).
