I was a young Radio Shack Store Manager in 1979 when I met Lew in his office. He was gracious and kind and explained how he personally brought the TRs-80 to the back page of the catalogue and pre-sold 7,000 computers. He laughed and said that Charles Tandy, said they would never sell. They did sell and Charles gave Lew a huge bonus for it!

"Uncle" Lewis was my favorite relative, my mother Anita having wed his brother John, my step-father. Lewis sparkled, Lewis radiated presence, wit, intelligence, and charm. He also never failed to make me feel special in his eyes.
Rose Ann, whom he adored deeply, my heart goes out to you for the loss of this lovely man.

I meet Mr. Kornfeld during my days at Radio Shack. He was one of the good guys at RadioShack. He always had time to say hello and to see how I was doing. Mr. Kornfeld gave me the impression that he cared about people who worked for RadioShack. He was truly one of the good people at RadioShack. Our condolences go out to the Kornfeld family.

Lew hired me in July 1959 and was one of the most important individuals in my life. He was my mentor,teacher and friend.Lew was an extraordinary individual and a brilliant businessman. May his memory always be for a blessing.

Farewell to a unique talent and great benefit to the Fort Worth community. Lest we forget, Tandy Corporation/RadioShack made it possible for many, many people to have successful jobs, pay taxes and live comfortably in this area.

Mrs. Kornfeld, I leased Mr. Kornfeld office space when I was with Sundance Square. He was an awe-inspiring man. I thoroughly enjoyed reading several of his works and he always appreciated my thoughts on what he wrote. I will miss him. Very truly, Debbie Ruffu

Mr. Kornfeld was a great man and leader; he was the foundation of the success of RadioShack. His leadership gave so many of us RadioShack family members the opportunity of a lifetime. The glory days are long past but to those of us who lived them and loved them, he will be fondly remembered and always respected.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Kornfeld's passing, he was a great man and always so kind to me during his visits to Tandy Corp (aka RadioShack Corp.). The world has lost a great man, but his legacy will prevail.
