Linda Holcomb Obituary

Linda Kay Gilliland Holcomb, 66, a strong and loving woman, left her temporary home for an eternal one on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday in North Side Baptist Church with Lynnelle Strauss officiating. Interment: Dicey Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m, Tuesday at Galbreaith-Pickard. Pallbearers: Scott Durham, Shane Durham, Jarrod Smith, Jonathan Strauss, Dan Edwards and Dylan Holcomb. Linda was born Dec. 4, 1947, in Weatherford, where she lived her entire life. She married the love of her life, Jim, and they recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on July 9, 2014. Linda spent the majority of her career with Wal-Mart and retired as the personnel manager. More than anything, Linda's passion was her family life, and spending time with all of them was most important. Nature brought particular joy to Linda as she loved to visit the property she and Jim own in Hico, as well as trips to the Hill Country to see the breathtaking array of wildflowers. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Pauline Gilliland. Survivors: Her husband, Jim; son, Seth and wife, Debbie; daughter, Jennifer; son, Toby and wife, Renee; sister, Anita Durham; grandchildren, Dylan Holcomb, Elizabeth Holcomb, Clayton Holcomb, Nicole Patterson, Natalie Stanley, Kayla Garcia; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
