Funeral: Services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, with Pastor David Mejia officiating.
Lisa co-owned Boopa's Bagel Deli in Fort Worth. It was named after her son, whose nickname was "Boopa," which his grandmother Sheila gave him.
Jayden loved to work at the deli with his mother. He wanted to be referred to as one of the owners because he said his name was on the building. Jayden was a member of Cub Scout Pack 165, which Lisa was involved in. He also enjoyed playing soccer with the Sharks and Lions.
Lisa was a member of the PTA at Jayden's school, North Riverside Elementary, where he was a first grader. She was also very active in the business community.
Lisa, Jayden and Marleigh will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved them.
Survivors: (of Lisa) Parents, Michael Underwood of Wichita Falls and Sheila Underwood of Dallas; aunt, Marla Hess of Wichita Falls.
Jayden is survived by father, Bradley Mejia and wife, Angie of St. Joseph, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Michael Underwood of Wichita Falls and Sheila Underwood of Dallas; paternal grandparents, David and Gwynneth Mejia of Missouri; half sister, Zandra Mejia; aunt, Marla Hess of Wichita Falls; and Jayden's close and dear friend, Kelly "Pookie."

You are not forgotten.
November 1, 2005
You were so full of life, Always smiling and carefree. Life loved you being a part of it, And I loved you being a part of me. You could make anyone laugh, if they were having a bad day, no matter how sad i was, you could take the hurt away. Nothing could ever stop you, or even make you fall, you were ready to take on the world, ready to do it all.
But God decided he needed you, so from this world you left, but you took a piece of all of us, our hearts is what you kept, your seat is now empty, and it's hard not to see your face, but please always know this, No one will ever take your place. You left with without a warning, not even saying good bye, and I can't seem to stop, asking the question why? Nothing will ever be the same, the halls are empty without your laughter, but i know you're in heaven, watching over us and looking after. I didn't see this coming, it his me by surprise, and when you left this world, a small part of me died. Your smile could brighten anyone's day, no matter what they were going through, and i know everyday for the rest of my life...I'll be missing you.

I worked with lisa for almost two years and she and jayden were very important in my life. Jayden was like the little brother I never had and I was looking forward to babysitting marleigh. I miss them more every day and they will always be in my thoughts. That bagel shop is a great part of my life and always will be.I miss them so much and they will never be forgotten. Lisa taught me so much in the short time I got with her.I pray that justice will be served and that their souls are at peace.

It has been over 6 months and my thoughts and prayers are still with the family of Lisa, Jayden, and Marleigh. Although, I did not know with Lisa and Jayden our lives were woven together through North Riverside Elem., eating at the begal shop, and living in community. Our children and families were all touched by the tragedy.
I will continue to pray for you all.

What a pleasure it was whenever Jayden visited my home. Jayden is charming the angels in Heaven. There were no more special boys anywhere and no more devoted Mother anywhere. My daughter, Holly, learned a lot from Lisa and loved her and Jayden so much and we all were thrilled about the baby girl we were going to meet. Our lives will never be the same, but we will remember these three always and look forward to meeting them in Heaven. God prepared a mansion for them in Heaven.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, February 19, 2005 Jesus sent an Angel to take Lisa, Jayden and of course baby Marleigh by the hand and said "Hurry Child, you're going home to a grand and glorious land.
We would like to express our deepest and sincere sympathy to the entire family of Lisa and Jayden. Just know that there are thousands of people holding you each up in prayer daily and asking God to wrap his loving arms around you and give you the comfort and strength that only he can offer you.
I know that there are no words that can ease your pain that only time and prayer and our dear sweet Lord can give you the comfort you need. We would like to share the following poem with you and hope that you will find a little comfort in the poem and also in knowing that others care and share in your pain and sorrow.
One day at a time sweet Jesus that's all that I'm asking from you.
Lord give me the strength to do every day what I have to do.
Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus and tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today show me the way One Day At A Time.
A LETTER FROM HEAVEN
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say....but first of all, to let you know, that we arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here we dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because We're out of sight.
Remember that We're with you every morning, noon and night.
That day we had to leave you when our life on earth was throught,
God picked us up and hugged us and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb; but together we can do it by taking on day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too....that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain, then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile, knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low, just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time to go....from that body to be free, remember you're not going....you're coming here to me.
Hold onto your memories of Lisa and Jayden and they will live in your life forever untill you meet again.
Felicia Redmond

What an honor I had of being a customer of Lisa's at the Deli. Lisa always had a smile on her face, it was a wonderful way to start the morning. I admired Lisa so for working so hard in developing her business while raising her son. I will miss her and I will miss seeing Jayden peeking out through his blanket trying to get a few more minutes of sleep. God bless your family and Holly too. I've signed my name but, Lisa knew me as One Boopa with egg and provolone.

One of our first discoveries upon moving to Fort Worth was Boopa's Bagels. What a treasure to find--terrific food, the best coffee around, and Lisa, always friendly, chatting with everyone, making a community feel like a best friend. And there with her was Jayden, such a small child with big eyes, made even more innocent and sweet looking behind his glasses. Our son is the same age, and there were many times the boys would get to play--it was always something to look forward to.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Lisa and Jayden's families, including Holly and all the regulars at Boopa's who Lisa treated like family. Please take comfort in the lives that they touched, just by being themselves.
