Margaret Fox Obituary

Margaret Starbuck Fox

January 28, 1950 - June 20, 2025

Hurst, Texas - Margaret Starbuck Fox, 75, of Hurst, Texas passed away in the presence of her husband after a courageous 5-year battle with the disease, PSP. Margaret's wish was to be cremated and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Born on January 28, 1950 in Atlanta, GA. To Elizabeth Hurt Starbuck and John Emerson Starbuck, her family later moved to Columbus, GA where Margaret was raised. She attended Columbus High School and later attended Florida State University. In 1975, she married the love of her life Lewis (Eddie) Fox. Together they raised their amazing children, Matthew and Chevin. Margaret cherished her children and adored her 3 Grandchildren, all of whom equally adored and loved their Mama Fox.

Margaret's presence was always felt through her quick wit, playful spirit, inquisitive mind, and ability to turn any moment into a memorable one. She enjoyed times on the lake and was an accomplished water skier. In addition, she enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, playing in the Hand Bell Choir at church, as well as remembering every single lyric to any show tune and popular song she loved. She found great peace in meticulously caring for her flowers and plants. Peonies and Dogwoods held a special place in her heart.

In her younger years, Margaret held several positions, including dental assistant, bank teller, and secretary at an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Clinic. After marriage she began her professional career as a legal secretary at McCowan, McMackin, Godfrey, Decker &Jones for 14 years. She spent her last 17 years as an executive assistant at Hillwood Development. Margaret was admired for her hard work, professionalism, team spirit, and efficiency, but she will be most remembered for always being there for her family, friends and coworkers.

Margaret is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Lewis; her son Matthew and his wife Amber; her daughter Chevin and husband Jared; her grandchildren, Hannah Fox Schultz and husband Kyle Schultz; Maia Fox; and Ian Fox; her brother Jay Starbuck, her sister Elizabeth Starbuck Booher and her husband Bill Booher; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth Starbuck, and her sister Illges Starbuck Faron.

The immediate family expresses gratitude to Ultimate Plus Hospice Care and her aide, Helen Hernandez. Special appreciation and gratitude go out to her devoted private caregiver, Nyasha Park, for the loving care and support she provided for Margaret.

Margaret was truly a beautiful and kind soul. She had the most beautiful smile that would light up any room. Anyone she crossed paths with would fall in love with her. She left a lasting memory on everyone who came to know her and will be greatly missed by all those she loved and who loved her.

When Margaret arrived in Fort Worth, I was the attorney who was lucky enough to hire her. She worked for me for 14 years at what was then the downtown business. banking, and litigation law firm then known as Godfrey, Decker, McMackin, Shipman, McClane & Bourland through 1991, when we jointly transferred to a different large downtown firm. Margaret was very smart, efficient, helpful, and always a delight to work with. I offer my deepest condolences to Lewis and the other family members.

What a lovely tribute to Margaret. I only recently learned of her passing, and am so sorry for the loss that her family and friends now experience. What a tough road she and her loved ones bravely faced together! Margaret always made me laugh back in the days when I played handbells at Calvary. Those memories of her humor and her beautiful smile are precious.
With sincere sympathy, Diana Williams

Lewis, Matt, and Chevin....this picture of Margaret says it all. She was the most genuine and funniest of anyone I´ve ever had the pleasure of calling a friend. Although life events have only allowed us to see the family every now and then, please know that we are thinking of y´all and celebrating the life she shared with all of us.

We want to express our deepest condolences to my friend Lewis and the entire family. My life changed when Lewis and Margaret moved into our neighborhood, and I was lucky enough to experience Margaret's wonderful sense of humor and her genuine interest in other people. Some people never get to have a friend like Margaret, so I consider myself fortunate to have known her for 30 years! I will always cherish our friendship, and she will be greatly missed. Love Eddie & Vida.

I grieve the loss of my dear friend, Margaret. I never kept a score sheet, but I know of no one who gave me more joy and laughter (right down to bent- over belly laugh with tears).
Margaret was a trusted friend and I cherish all our memories through the decades... and it all started with Chevin and Kim.
So thankful for our friendship... but for now, I grieve the loss of my dear friend Margaret.
Sending our love to you Lewis.
