Fort Worth, Texas - Marilyn Dale Evans, 88, of Bedford, Texas passed away peacefully with family gathered at her bedside on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Born March 14, 1935, in Austin, Texas she was the daughter of Douglas Henson and Betha Fairless. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Claire Henson; stepfather, David Grubb; sister, Zane Christopher; and brothers, John Paul McGraw and Douglas Henson, Jr.

Marilyn worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, later a secretary, then a homemaker taking care of her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved the Lord and actively served at her church through Women Leading Women, and was a leader in Bible Study Fellowship for 4 years. Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening, antique shopping and going to the movies. She was also a neighborhood favorite, hosting tea parties and social gatherings.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, John; her son, Joel; her daughter, Elizabeth Woodruff and her husband Jeff; 3 grandchildren, Mark Chapa, Christina Logan and her husband Kyle, and Jeffery Woodruff; 2 great-grandchildren, Hayes and Hannah Logan; also leaving behind her sister, Donna Patané and husband Terry.

A memorial service will be held at Cross City Church, Euless, Texas on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 10:30am.
