Martin Casillas Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial: 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, Bridgeport. Burial: Mexican Cemetery. Rosary: 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Martin was born Jan. 30, 1926, in Bridgeport to Charlie and Josephine Burrola Casillas. He married Ruth Valasquez Jan. 6, 1941. They were united 66 years until his passing.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Juanita Salas; and son, David Casillas.
Survivors: Wife, Ruth Casillas of Bridgeport; sons, Martin Casillas Jr. and wife, Mary Helen of Bridgeport and Charley Casillas and wife, Cecilia of Fort Worth; daughters, Mary Martinez and husband, Jesse of Fort Worth, Josephine Morales and husband, Joe of Fort Worth, Ida Gonzales and husband, Santos of Alvarado, Pauline Ramos and husband, Robert of Arlington, Helen Casillas of Bridgeport; sisters, Mary Sue Garza of Paradise and Emily Davilla of Bridgeport; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Ruth and Helen, so sorry to hear about Martin, our families friendship goes back many years, at least we have those wonderful memories. Now Martin is cooking that wonderful food for MeMe Price again and he and she are laughing. Ruth I know you will miss him but he is with his God and he is all well and free from pain, we love and care about you all. May God be with you now and help you during this time.
