Mary Guggino Marchesi was born Aug. 21, 1921, in Tampa, Fla. After attending Hillsbourgh High School, she enrolled in business school. As a young adult, she landed a job as a secretary at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla. While working there, her brother introduced her to Bill Marchesi, who was attending flight school. They married three months after their meeting on March 6, 1943. She then joined ranks with other military wives for the next 26 years. During the "Air Force years," Mary was a stay-at-home mom and also volunteered for various organizations, including the Gray Ladies, the Red Cross, Brownies and Girl Scouts. When her husband retired in 1968, they moved to Fort Worth, where they lived for the past 35 years.
Survivors: Daughter, Lynn Marchesi Strawn and husband, Kenneth G.; brother, Joe Guggino and wife, Helen; niece, Linda Orofino; nephew, George Anello; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
