Aunt Mattie, this is your niece Rae Kysha. I spoke of you the other day. I drive by your house often and blow the horn. I wrote out an invitation for you to my graduation Oct 7th. I finally finished my Medical Assistant program. I miss you and will never forget Miss Mattie. Tell Uncle G-G I said hi I miss him too.

Well granny you are finally in the place that we talked about so many days coming from the doctors office. I knew that you were ready. I knew the day that they told us you had 6 monthes to live. I tried to be strong that day, but you told me that I was suppose to be sad becuase u were good to me. Well it is now 4 monthes later and I still have that sadness. I miss you more than words could ever say. I havent been to the house yet cuase im not that strong yet. I guess if sadness was the way to tell how good you were to melvin and I, you were awsome!! Tell Daddy G and my other granny I said hello and I will see them when my time on earth is done. Hey, I was strong enough to sing you on in to heaven!!SMILE I love you granny and I will see you up yonder. your grand daughter, Waleader

Aunt Mattie,
Well I guess your work here is done. I decided that I didn't want to see you at the hospital just like I chose not to visit Uncle G. Now I have memories of the both of you at the house laughing and smiling not hurting and suffering. When I went to the funeral, your presence was definitely felt. It was amazing to see the range of ages of the children that you have cared for from Miquel and Casey all the way up to grown adults with children and grandchildren of their own including myself. Well, I guess we will have to find my daddy something else to do everyday at 2:00. He loved having coffee with you every day but he also knew that you were ready to go home and be with the Lord and Uncle G. I can honestly say your presence will be missed but I did have a smile on my face when we left the cemetary knowing you are in a better place and I love you

Our family will truely miss your mother. When I came to town I could always call her to get in touch with Shaddy(Sharon), and Francis her beloved sisters-in-law. She is now in her home in heaven with L.G.,your pa-pa George and grama Clara Mae waiting to meet you there. So be still and know that God is with you and will never leave you alone.
