Marcy, I am so so sorry to hear about your tragic loss. I cannot imagine the pain you all are going through. I only just heard of Megan's tragic accident through the cycling world. My family is very much into mountain biking, and our two young boys race as well. I hope to be able to get in touch with you. God Bless you and all of your family. I didn't know Megan... An old girlfriend of mine has a son that attends Lee McRae College in Banner Elk, NC. His name is David Bentley. I live in Fort Worth and she now lives in Mill Valley in Northern California. She called me to wish me a Happy New Year and she had mentioned that her son, Davis was absolutely devastated by the news and the loss of Megan. I guess Lees McRae is a very small school with a great tradition of Cycling... and from what I understand, these kids are incredibly close... Please be comforted that your daughter, Megan has touched so many lives and that her legacy will live with those who continue to train and ride without her at Lees Mcrae College. I thought I would just say something via this message board concerning your daughter Megan and that Davis Bentley has been moved, shocked and forever imprinted by the friendship and the tragic loss of his good friend Megan... my heart goes out to the family and friends of Megan. My heart and prayers go out to the Baab family and to Megan...

Megan touched so many people in positive ways during her too-short lifetime. Altho you will miss her forever, I hope you know you will see her again eventually - SHE has not died, only her body did.
Please read 'Life After Life' by Dr Raymond Moody and 'On Life After Death' by Dr Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. These were a great comfort to us and hope they will be for you.

Megan was a little girl when I last saw her and she was always smiling big and full of energy. I have followed her growth through all the wonderful accomplishments her Daddy Chris has posted on FaceBook. Thank you for giving me and others the opportunity to know such a well rounded and beautiful soul. We have one more Angel to look up to and we know she will be one of the brightest cause she was that here on Earth. God Bless and my deepest sympathy to the Family. May God give you strength to continue as Megan would have wanted for all of you.

Megan's grandmother, Sherlene, was my dear friend. She was so proud of all her grandchildren and always kept me up to date on all their accomplishments. With Megan, it was her cycling. Watching her and her sisters grow up through Sherlene, I felt as though all the girls were my own. I share your sorrow, but am so grateful to have been touched by her shining light.

I really enjoyed getting to know Megan at church and was so sorry to hear of her accident. She always made me smile or laugh. My favorite memory of her is when my husband and I helped Megan, her dad and Tyler pass out turkeys to less fortunate families a few years ago . Megan and her enthusiastic attitude and big heart will be missed by many.
