Mike was one of the most erudite, enthusiastic people I’ve known. My wife and daughters loved his rare company since we became friends in Atlanta in the ‘60’s, but we never lost touch over 50 years.

Our family knew Mike when he was dating my sister in Dallas. He was so bright, so funny and self effacing. He and I got to speak German together. He was an amazing linguist. We all enjoyed his company immensely.
