Mike Cash Obituary

Mike Cash passed peacefully from this earth Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. He was 60 years young. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Mike served in the Vietnam War, 81st Airborne Special Forces Division, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After his time in the military, Mike went to work at Vandervoort's Dairy where he was production manager until retiring after 29 years. Mike was a rough and tough guy on the outside but he had the softest, sweetest, most beautiful heart on the inside. He was thoughtful, generous and fun. He loved his family, friends, two yorkies and the Dallas Cowboys. Life was never dull with Mike around. He made you laugh and forget your troubles, if just for a little while. His advice to all was "Have fun while you can, cause you never know what's down the road." He was preceded in death by his second wife, Nona Cash; mother, Delain McDaniel Hutson; sister, Colleen Cavanaugh; and son-in-law, Raan Hunter. Survivors: Wife, Kathleen Cash; daughters, Amanda Watson and husband, Kiel, Megan Hunter, Darla Waldo and husband, Bill, Tonya Gregory, Melissa Meaders and husband, Brian, and Cate Cash; son, Jacob Hausey and wife, Gala; sister, Denise Coriddi and husband, Pete; "adopted" sister, Robin Holland; father, Tommy Cash; father-in-law, Bennie "Pop" Drain; grandchildren, Bethany, Bryan, Libby, Christian, Jalun, Jordan, Austin, Kolton, Zaitah, Aujnah, Dylan, Summer, Alex, Wesley, Audrey, Mitchell and Tasha; great-grandson, Gavin; and numerous other family and friends.

My condelences to Kathy and family on Mike's passing. Working with/for Mike at Vandervoort's, he was a 'tough' guy and also a great guy. Sincere and fair to work with. May memories of Mike comfort you as time passes.

No more hospital trips or days of feeling bad. The hard part is our heart hurts as he left footprints there but remember the good times, the laughter and smiles. I am so sorry for those who are left behind in such grief. I pray that each time they get together each one has a wonderful story or memory of you and that they share it and stay close. May your memory bring smiles to their faces each day and the love you gave so freely bring joy to their hearts until you are rejoined in Heaven.
