My Grandmother was one of the most important people in my life. She taught me through her example how to treasure being yourself, treasure your family, and enjoy each day. I have too many memories of Granny to capture in words. Most can only be communicated with a smile. She always called me her "Sidekick" when I was little and she showed such love to my children, her great-grandchildren that it made my heart melt. I miss you Granny Cookie!

Granny was one of the most wonderful people I have ever met in my life. Her spirit for life was unequaled. Her Ice Coffee was pretty tasty too. I’ll never forget driving to Denny’s to have lunch with her while she “showed off” her Great Grandson to the wait staff. She was more interested in making me blush than ordering food. She is also the one person who had the strength to look me in the eye and ask me if I had accepted Jesus as my Savior. When I didn’t give a good enough answer she took my hand and asked Jesus to watch over and protect me. I accepted Jesus on the spot and felt an overwhelming calm and happiness come over me. Thank you Granny! I love you and can’t wait to see you again in Heaven!

My great grandmother, what words can express what she means to me. She was a gentel soul, always with kind words and a smile for everyone she knew, being the great granddaughter I always felt like she saved the kindest words and sweetest smile for me. I remember fondly afternoons after grade school when she would pick me up,take me to her home, we would spend whole afternoons talking, sharing laughs and wonderful stories from her long well lived life. As a child, and even now as an adult, her stories make me laugh and smile. It is with a heavy heart that i bid her farewell, my dearest and most loving Granny Cooke.

Our Granny was an amazing, loving, compassionate and generous woman with an incredible sense of humor. Our memories of and with her are priceless. She and I used to joke "If I go before you, I'll wait for you. If you go before me, wait for me." Go on to be with all of your loved ones that went before, Granny...just promise to come back and get me when it's my time.

I met Mrs. Cooke while visiting my aunt (Janie Haliburton), and my heart goes out to her family. I will keep you in my prayers, just sitting with Mrs Cooke and her daughter Mikey was a treat for me and I learned so much through my time with them. May God keep you all in His loving and comforting arms.
