Nancy Owen Obituary

Nancy Diane Jordan Owen

September 21, 1939 - September 15, 2023

Fort Worth, Texas - Nancy Diane Jordan Owen, 83, passed away Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, after a sudden illness surrounded by her loving family.

Celebration of Life: 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, in Greenwood Live Oak Reception Room.

Affectionately known as "Dah" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nancy was the quintessential grandmother figure, both to family and friends. When she wasn't befriending stray cats on her back patio, Nancy could be found spending time with her husband Robert of 66 years. She loved planning lunch dates with her daughters and grandchildren and attending her "Heights Lunch Bunch" with old Arlington Heights classmates. Nancy was an avid reader and would often fall asleep in bed with a book on her chest. She also had a passion for primitive antiques, traveling to Round Top, and engaging with her Antiquarian group. She created hooked rugs with a wonderful group of friends at RD Evans for many years. They called themselves "The Hookers", which always brought a laugh when telling someone for the first time about their group.

Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Survivors: Husband, Robert Owen; daughters, Susan and Willie Hite and Deborah and Karl Sims; grandchildren, Amy and Russell Ware, Robby and Brooke Hite, Laura and Brad McIntire, Jordan and Brianna Sims, Jason Sims, Julia Sims and Stephen Seymour; as well as nine great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by many other family members who loved her dearly.

Jan Droke

October 30, 2023

Robert and family, I am Jan Droke, Kay Carson´s sister.
Nancy was my big sister´s best friend, so I have known her my whole life. She was always a part of our family´s special occasions while also being there for her growing family. When my sister had to give up driving, Nancy started taking her to activities the two of them had enjoyed together, including the week before Nancy died.
Kay, James, the rest of the Carson family, and I (and many others, I´m sure) will miss her warm smiling face.
Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Robert and family, I am Mary Ball´s daughter. I wanted to share something about Nancy. She had the most beautiful smile and when she smiled her whole face lit up and her eyes twinkled. I remember visiting with both of you at the antique sales at Mariann Mc Keogh house. Nancy was a dear friend of my mom. I´m sorry for your loss. Marianne Ball Shapter
