Memorial service: 7 p.m. Thursday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2100 N. Davis Drive, Arlington.
Norma was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in 1931. She had a special gift, her love of knowledge and of people. After earning her B.A. from the University of Puerto Rico, Norma began her lifelong crusade of teaching English and Spanish.
Norma married J. Uriel Quinones Nov. 24, 1951, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and had six children. She moved from Puerto Rico to Virginia in 1970, where they lived until moving to Arlington in 1980.
Norma crowned her successful and enriching teaching career with over 10 years at Lamar High School in Arlington.
As a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Norma served as a eucharistic minister and was actively involved in other groups within the church.
Norma's love for her family was paralleled only by her love for the students she taught with such great joy for so many years. Her encouraging spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
