My parents, Ralph & Coralee Walker, were patients of Dr. Haffke's for probably 35-40 years. When he retired, they just didn't know what to do! They really liked him, and all my life I've heard about funny things he said over the years. He also took great care diagnosing and treating my brother Stuart's MS. Dr. Haffke genuinely cared about his patients, never making them feel rushed, and he was available to them when they needed him. Even as he was retiring, he told my mother she could call him at home if she had any questions concerning dad's health problems. (We lost dad in 1998.) It's very difficult these days to get hold of a doctor by phone without getting recorded messages from a machine! Dr. Haffke was a good listener, and he was good at relieving our fears. His sense of humor was delightful. In spite of some personal tragedies in his life, he managed to keep that humor. He was one of a kind and we will miss him! My sympathies to Paula and family (I don't think Paula remembers me, but I feel she remembers my parents and brother).

Doctor Haffke was a wonderful doctor. His sense of humor was the kind I liked. He was our family doctor for many years. He took such good care of his older patients. I had a very contrary Mother. She was every doctor's nightmare EXCEPT for Doctor Haffke!

After Doctor Haffke retired she was not pleased with any other doctor and refused to go. My son is a doctor in Fort Worth and he managed to talk her into continuing her medicine, but she passed away shortly after that. She was 94, but still sharp as could be.

I'll never forget and appreciate Doctor Haffke.
