Ovalee Hill Kaether

1919 - 2009

Ovalee Hill Kaether, 89, passed into the Lord's hands Saturday, May 2, 2009.
Service: 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Alvarado. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Clayton-Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Alvarado.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Alvarado for 50-plus years. Ovalee was a retired seamstress, which she loved doing, but always thought that she would die sitting at her sewing machine. Her other enjoyments were yard work, traveling and being with family and her grandchildren.
"I have had a good life, two husbands that were good to me. Homer, my first husband of 49 1/2 years, said I was his homemaker and fishing partner, which I enjoyed doing. George was my second husband of 12 years and called me his tax dividend because we married the last day of December 1995. I also love to travel; the best part was coming back home, it made me appreciate my own home and family more."
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lee Templeton and Alice D. Haggard; husbands, Homer Hill and George Kaether; and daughter, Sandra Fry.
Survivors: Niece, Patsy Metcalf and husband, Chester, of Alvarado; nephew, Donald Ray Matthews and wife, Shirley, of El Campo; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and church friends.
