Pat and I attended Rice together and stayed in close touch until I lost track around 2007. Only now did I think to check, and I am shocked to see he has been gone for so many years, and that he died so young.

I am so very saddened to hear of his passing. My very belated condolences to his family.

Patrick and I would turn 65 this year. I hope to make it to Heaven and see him there. We can remember the sisters that taught us. Patrick came from a great family. It is no wonder that everyone who knew him was impressed.

I just stumbled across this guest book. When I heard of Patrick's passing I was in shock. Even though I had not seen him since 6th grade finished, I would never have thought it was time for him to go. He was so smart he could come to school late every day due to his asthma and still have the highest grades in the class. He wasn't mean like so many boys are in elementary to girls. He was nice to everyone. I wish I had seen him recently. I will just continue to pray for his soul.

Just learned of Dr. Walsh's passing after receiving a letter regarding his practice. I am so sad to hear this news. He was an excellent doctor. I was the youngest in the waiting room and very nervous and he was patient, kind and used humor to help me through it. My condolences to his daughter and family. Gone far too early but what a difference he made in this world with the time he did have.

What a great guy and excellent surgeon. I was his patient and my wife and I loved him and his humor. He loved to play head games with us and he always left us wondering with that twinkle in his eye. I think he always won. We will miss our dear doctor/friend Pat.

Pat's passion for teaching dermatology residents and fellows will be missed. He was generous and kind with everybody, and cared less about the limelight than making sure that the people he taught succeeded in whatever they did.

May 7, 2015

My first research desk in the department was in Pat's lab at the 9th and Colorado Blvd campuswhen I came to Colorado for dermatology residency in 1997. Pat was an exemplary research mentor and person of integrity. He will be missed.

Pat was a dear friend when we both trained together in Denver. He was one of the best men I ever knew - honorable, dedicated, considerate, generous. He was my youngest daughter's Godfather, and never, ever missed her birthday.

It's so sad to lose him forever.

Pat was a terrific colleague of mine during his years at CU. He worked in our lab while completing his Moh's fellowship, and explored human gene therapy to treat melanoma.

He also demonstrated that mice could reject melanoma when the immune system was activated via genetic manipulation, a forerunner of the great advances made in the last decade in humans.

These are lasting legacies of Pat's contributions to the war on cancer. He was deeply missed when he left Colorado and now will be missed by all who knew him. Godspeed Pat!

To my Texas cousins
Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your brother. Patrick was so kind to my dad, actually flying from Texas to Rochester, NY to oversee my dad's dermatolgical surgery. We will miss his sweet smile and his warm southern hospitality. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Cousin Mary
