Patsy Davis Obituary

With great sadness we announce that Patsy Davis passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Cryptside service: Patsy's life will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Mausoleum. Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to the American Heart Association. Patsy was born Jan. 2, 1934, in Brownwood, the only child of Jack and Lois Glasscock. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1951. Patsy was a member of the Big Six Sisterhood, a high school group of six Fort Worth girls who experienced the same life passages for decades and supported each other in ways we can hardly imagine and only admire, although they met only once a year. They stayed in touch, shared big chunks of their lives and transformed themselves from close acquaintances into family. Their friendship helped guide their lives as deftly as a gull's wing and each knows what it means to be treasured. Among her many accomplishments was a company she started called Dial Dictate for medical transcription. She was also an accomplished home builder and artist. Patsy was an avid world traveler delighting in every location she visited. Patsy will be remembered for her love of art, music, design, dance, books and gardening. She will also be remembered by friends and family for the way in which she arranged their homes and gardens, with or without their permission. For many years Patsy was a member of Temple Beth El after converting to Judaism. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 26 years, Alfred Davis, former co-owner of A. Davis Co., a Fort Worth clothier. Survivors: Nephew, Martin Kaplan (Debi) of Houston; nieces, Linda Davis of Los Angeles, Calif., Michele Davis Karagianakis (Tom) of Rumson, N.J., Laurie Davis Goldstein (Robert) of Los Angeles, Calif., Shere Kahn (Mark Franzen) of Denver, Colo., and Reisa Kahn (George Masnick) of Hamilton, Mont.; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Emily Goldstein of Los Angeles, Calif., Ryan Goldstein of Los Angeles, Calif., Alex Karagianakis of Rumson, N.J., Elin Franzen Curry (Kevin Curry) of Denver, Colo., Sam Franzen of Denver, Colo., Will Kaplan (Marla) and their children, James and Lucy of Portland, Ore., Drs. Kevin and Molly Kaplan and their children, Jack and Matthew of Houston, and Max Masnick (Natalie) of Hamilton, Mont.
