Granbury, Texas - Our beloved mother Patsy Jeanne Griffin Ross, 91, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at 10:35 a.m., and guided by our patiently waiting father, Warren Gamaliel Ross, she was ushered into the arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.
Celebration of Life: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood.
Patsy was born Oct. 28, 1930, to Benjamin Franklin Griffin and Lyda Estelle Chambers Griffin in Brownwood, Texas. She was joined four years later by a beloved sister, Gloria Gayle Griffin Monzingo. After her father passed in 1945, the family moved to Cleburne, Texas, and Patsy graduated from Cleburne High School in 1948. Even though she was artistically gifted, she eventually went to work for the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, formerly at the Fort Worth Courthouse. It was at this time that a friend set her up on a blind date with a young man from the mountains of Kentucky named Warren Ross. After 8 months of courtship, they were married on Oct. 2, 1953, at the First Baptist Church in Fort Worth in the Pastor's study. Their 66- year marriage was long and happy, filled with love and blessed by four children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Patsy is survived by her DAUGHTER, Pamela Bass; stepgranddaughter, DeeDee Johnston, along with her husband, Troy and their children, Nathan and Jacob; SON, Wendell Gregson (Greg) along with his partner, Katherine Asher, his daughters, Nina Ross and her children, Presley and Tyler, and Jessica Ross along with her partner, Michael; DAUGHTER, Sheila and husband, Walter Lee Stoudenmire, along with their son, Ryan and his wife, Brittney and their children, Noah and Wyatt, their daughter, Lindsay and her husband, Ben Miller, and their daughter, Taylor and her husband, Allan Schumacher; DAUGHTER Beverly Ross Keith along with her children, Kaytelyn Anne Ross and David Keith; her sister, Gayle's children, Marc and wife, Susie Monzingo, Scott Monzingo, and Joni Von Draak and husband, Danny, and she was also survived by nephew, David Michael Ross Ball, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; her parents, Ben and Lyda; sister Gayle, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. As Patsy has joined the rest of her generation, may they all rest in peace in Heaven reunited.
Many heartfelt thanks for the care Patsy received from the staff of The Courtyards of Granbury, as well as the staff of Alpha and Omega Hospice. You all will always have a special place in our hearts.
