I knew Paul starting in 1972. Although we never saw each other again, I’ve always counted him as a friend.

I am sorry I missed seeing you again, Paul. I met Paul in high school and lost track of him in the 70's. I now live near where Paul did in high school and I have thought of him often over the years. I considered him a good friend. We gave him a nickname...PaulyDolly.
Debby, I am sorry for your loss.

What a long journey life can be from the time you meet someone and come to a place where your paths become separate journeys. I met Paul while standing along Grapevine Hwy, selling Carnations for the Flower Children!! I was with his band for awhile and it was through his friendship with Debby , that I met her cousin, Craig, who I married in 1975.He passed away in 2008. Yeah, we all started out in Ft. Worth and I am living in FL now. A long way from Austin and Mother Earth(Tracy Nelson). My Mom saw this in the paper and I just wanted to stroll for a bit down this part of Memory Lane. Glad he had you for his life long friend, Debby. Sorry for your loss.

Eric and I met Paul through TCC. He would deliver newspapers to the NE Campus every Wednesday morning. Over the past 20 years he became a very good friend and I will miss seeing him stop by our office after delivering papers, heading for the coffee pot and stopping to check his email while asking me each time what his password was and swearing the computers were different every week. Every time I would remind him of his password he would lean over the back of the chair and say "I looooovvveeee youuuuuu" as thanks for the help. He was there for our wedding 17 years ago and also helped us move into our present house in 2008. Trips to Matt's with Paul for Mexican food were also lots of fun and I will always remember having dinner with him in Austin. He drove all the way there just for that. He also bought one of my cameras and used it to photograph everything he saw, and good or bad, we downloaded those photos to a CD and he carefully labeled each one. There are many great memories of Paul and my husband and I will always cherish them and feel blessed we were lucky enough to have him for our friend. We will miss him dearly but we know that where he is he is telling good stories, enjoying good food and making many new friends.

I have known Paul since 1968. He was a dear friend until the mid 90's when I moved away. He had every right to be proud of Pecos Star, I must have seen them, including practices, 100 times.
One of my favorite memories of Paul is his stopping by my folk's house late at night after he got off work (before professional drumming) and we would share a pipe load. This of course was approaching 50 years ago. I am truly sorry to hear of his passing.
My thoughts go out to Debby. Cryspian
