Philip Bishop Obituary

Philip Randle Bishop
June 17, 1931 - June 29, 2021
Fort Worth, Texas - Philip Randle Bishop passed away on June 29, 2021 peacefully at home.
He was born in Malakoff, Henderson County, Texas on June 17, 1931 to Robert Joseph Bishop and Bobbie Alene Bishop Phillips.
Philip Bishop grew up in Malakoff, Texas and graduated from Malakoff High School in 1948. He entered Southern Methodist University, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. He then attended Kemper Military School, finishing with a rank of First Lieutenant in Air Intelligence. In 1957 he earned his degree in Jurisprudence at the University of Texas, and was licensed by the State Bar of Texas in the same year. He then formed a partnership known as Walker, Bishop and Larrimore followed by other partnerships, with permanent offices at the First National Bank building, retiring from law practice in 2015. He was a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit of New Orleans, Louisiana, the Mount Olivet Cemetery Association and their attorney of record, Rivercrest Country Club, Shady Oaks Country Club, the Fort Worth Club and the Steeplechase Club.
At Shady Oaks, Philip was an avid golfer as well as a player in the regular bridge, duplicate bridge and gin rummy games. His daughters fondly recall how on returning home he would generously share his winnings with them.
Philip found his passion in life in his legal work but also found time for travel with his beloved wife to many parts of Europe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juliet Cecile Watson Bishop, who passed away September 18, 2015.
He is survived by his daughters, Elisabeth Bishop and Amy Williamson, husband, Donovan Williamson II; grandchildren, Julie Anthony, Benjamin Anthony and wife, Rebecca, John Randle Anthony, Donovan Williamson III, Mary Amelia Williamson Moss and husband, Peyton, Crawford Williamson and Lilli Williamson; and great-grandchild, Benjamin Anthony III.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank his caregivers, Jordan Dominguez, Elizabeth Dominguez, Jasenia Zelaya, Selina Solis and Stephanie Meeks and wishes to express their deepest gratitude to his indispensable personal and legal secretary of more than 25 years, Lujuana Bilger.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
