Graveside service: 11 a.m. Thursday in Oakwood Cemetery in Fort Worth. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with rosary at 7 p.m.
Ray was born Sept. 10, 1926, to Franisco Modesto and Simona Nombrano in Melvin. He grew up in Melvin and Ballinger. He was married to Elodia, who passed away in 1974. Raul was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Vandervorts Milk Co. after 15 years of service. He devoted most of his time going to garage sales and flea markets with his children and grandchildren. Raul loved being outdoors gardening.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, one sister and his brothers.
Survivors: His sons, Ernest Nombrano and Raul G. Nombrano Jr. and wife, Karma, all of Fort Worth; daughters, Erlinda Mackey and husband, Charles, of Alvarado, Corina Garcia and husband, Jose, Christina Arreola and husband, Rudy, of Fort Worth, Ernestina Villeareal and husband, Jaime, of Haltom City, Irene Ashley and husband, Gregory, and Irma Nombrano and husband, Efrain, of Fort Worth; 23 special grandchildren; and 21 wonderful great-grandchildren.
