Ray Tims Obituary

Ray Eugene Tims, 77, a retired accountant, lost his battle with cancer and passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2011. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: 2:15 p.m. Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: The family extends gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Community Hospice of Texas, Hospice House. His memory may be honored with donations to Hospice House or a charity of choice. Ray was born in 1934, raised in Mansfield and later Fort Worth, where he graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1950. After serving a term in the U.S. Navy, he attended Texas Christian University where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and graduated in 1961. He had a long career as an accountant and auditor with several companies, lastly with Texas Workforce Commission. Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather with an unwavering love for the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Dee and Alice Caroline Tims; and six siblings. Survivors: Wife, Barbara; son, Scott Tims and his wife, Lauren, of Dallas; daughter, Krista Beech and her husband, Scott, of North Richland Hills; son, Dr. Bryan Tims of Venus; grandchildren Austin and Allison Tims, Alexa and Ashlyn Beech, and Gabby Garcia; and numerous other family and friends.
