Richard Colleoni Obituary

Richard F. "Dick" Colleoni, 79, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at his home in Arlington. Service: Two-part service: Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Wade Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, 817-274-9233. Military burial: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, 214-467-3374. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to COPD Foundation, 2937 SW 27th Ave., Suite 302, Miami, Fla. 33133, 866-731-2673, in honor of Richard F. Colleoni. Dick was born April 8, 1933, in Superior, Wyo., to Richard L. Colleoni and Rosa Bastiani of Tyrol, Austria. He graduated with a degree in engineering from the University of Wyoming and subsequently did graduate work in business at Texas Christian University. Dick served the United States Army as a first lieutenant U.S. Infantry. He was company commander of A Company, Fort Jackson, S.C. Dick was employed for 43 years by the LTV group of companies where his specialty was the development of space and military defense systems, until his retirement as director of Mechanical Engineering. Survivors: His wife of 57 years, Paula Louise Ainsworth Colleoni; sisters, Madeline Colleoni and Cornelia George; son, Richard F. "Rick" Colleoni Jr.; daughter, Margaret Delin Byrum. In addition, four granddaughters, Stephanie Colleoni Woehr, Lauren Colleoni, Alison Colleoni, Teri Byrum; and great granddaughter, Marisa Woehr.
