Fort Worth, Texas - Robert Eugene Beck, aged 83, passed away on April 3, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born in Evanston, Illinois, he was a cherished member of his community and a beacon of kindness and dedication.

Bob graduated from Northwestern University and went on to earn a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He dedicated 34 years of his career to Alcon Laboratories, where his brilliance and hard work left a lasting impact.

A long-term member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, Bob's life was marked by profound compassion and a commitment to service, which was reflected in his personal and professional relationships.

Bob's hobbies included golf, reading, travel and attending musical performances, activities that brought him great joy and fellowship. He was a lover of dogs and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Beck, his daughter Karen Beck Lewis and son-in-law Kevin Lewis, and granddaughters Saskia and Anneke Lewis. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Beck Shifflet, and his parents Margaret Arford Beck and Milford Eugene Beck.

A memorial service will be held at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church at 5709 Wedgwood Dr., Fort Worth, TX, on August 25, 2024 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions in Robert's memory be made to the New Directions Fund or the Sustaining Fund at St. Christopher's Church, the Van Cliburn Foundation, or the Fort Worth Opera.

The arrangements are being handled by Brown, Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Fort Worth, TX. Robert's legacy of kindness, integrity, and devotion will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
